Doriene Marselje & Tony Roe

Harpist Doriene Marselje and pianist and composer Tony Roe bring harp, piano and live electronics together in a dialogue between composition and improvisation.

At the heart of their collaboration is Roe’s Interference cycle, drawing on Curaçaoan rhythms, hip-hop bass lines and electronic sound processing. The instruments exchange melodic and rhythmic roles, their acoustic colours extended and transformed through effects.

Moving between intricate interplay, lyrical passages and driving grooves, the duo approaches each performance with a shared curiosity for sound and room for the unexpected.
